In the past month or so there have been a few athletes that have gotten caught by the long arm of the law while under the influence. In recent news Kenny Britt Wide Receiver of the Tennessee Titans just got caught DWI in Kentucky at 3:30 a.m. at an army base no less. Now the problem I have with this is, haven’t you just seen the examples by some of the other athletes before this incident occurred that better judgement should’ve been used? Marshawn Lynch also was caught up in a DWI incident out in Oakland as well and the funny thing about the past two players its not like these players are quote – unquote role players, these guys are playmakers/go-to guys for their respected teams. The fact that the NFL players are in the off season, there are more noted incidents in recent news that have now surfaced. The NBA had an incident with Jason Kidd and by the grace of God he is safe and sound but to hear players of their caliber to be apart of such an embarrassing situation. The fear already is heavy when an average human being gets behind the wheel impaired but when you have athletes that already have the mindset that they are bigger than the law, this can be something that people in the select cities need to be concerned with on an day to day basis. Just think a few years ago Donte Stallworth was caught up in a vehicular manslaughter situation where someone lost their life and he was under the influence also. Its hard to limit the situations but what extent will the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL go through to slow this matter up. They are paid well enough to afford a ride or a designated driver, hopefully they use better judgement from here on out because they are also looked at as today’s role model of the world and this is not the light thats necessary to shine on these select celebrities lifestyles.
